As I realized last Christmas sitting by a table filled with traditional goodies — thus far I was taking all those familiar flavours for granted and didn’t even know how to make most of the dishes. They are not only a taste of my childhood but also a little time machine to cozy family gatherings filled with smell of mushroom soup, pierogi, and poppy seed cake (this one is an absolute killer!).

That’s why I decided that collecting all those recipes is very much needed. After long calls with my grandma, stealing her recipe notebooks and studying them carefully, I put together a handful of granny classics in a book. My husband took care of the graphic design and I threw a few illustrations.

Hope you’d enjoy it as much as I did!
